Prerequisites:  All Illinois residents that currently have a valid Concealed Carry License

The Illinois Concealed Carry renewal course is for the individual needing to renew an expiring Concealed Carry License. The course provides you with all the changes to the laws for CCL within and outside of our state.  Students will also need to re-qualify their shooting skills at the range in order to pass the course.  you must have a copy of your permit at the time of class.

We spend 2 hours in the classroom and 1 hour at the range to re-qualify.  It’s generally a good idea to start the renewal process 3-4 months before your renewal date, as the State takes approximately 120-150 days to do renewals.

• Updates to Illinois or federal firearms laws governing concealed carry in Illinois.
• Updates on use of force laws and IL criminal statutes.
• Appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.
• Firearm refresher instruction to include a live fire qualification with a concealable firearm using a B-27 silhouette target consisting of a minimum of 30 rounds and 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards, 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards and 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards.

• Your own, modern, safe and fully functional CCW appropriate handgun. You may use a loaner firearm, if necessary, for an additional fee.
• Be sure to have 50 rounds of factory new ammo (NO reloads).
• Bring eye and ear protection! If you do not have eye and ear protection it can be provided at the range for a nominal fee.
• Appropriate holster for the firearm. Outside waistband holsters are preferred. Please have a sturdy belt for holsters.
• Appropriate range attire, ex: NO low cut shirts, NO open toe shoes, NO shorts.
• Payment receipt for this course AND current FOID card – payment of course does NOT include any applicable range fees
• Documentation for any applicable prior training credit such as: DD214 or equivalent honorable discharge.
• Cleaning Kit 

• Brimmed ball cap
• Water, snack and any personal items you require
• Glasses or contacts (If you wear them regularly)
